Mental Health & Well-Being

You Matter

At Arizona Southwest Community (AZSW), we take the safety and well-being of our community seriously.

Everyone goes through difficult moments. Stress, anxiety, grief, loneliness, problems at home or school, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling overwhelmed can be hard to handle alone.

Asking for help is okay. You deserve to be heard and supported.

AZSW encourages anyone who is struggling to reach out to a trusted person or qualified mental health professional.

AZSW Is a Community — Not a Mental Health Provider

AZSW can provide a place for community, conversation, and support, but AZSW is not a mental health care provider, counseling service, crisis center, or emergency service.

AZSW administrators, moderators, volunteers, and community members should not be considered therapists, counselors, doctors, or other mental health professionals unless an individual separately holds such qualifications and is acting in that professional capacity.

Information or conversations within AZSW should not be considered medical or mental health advice.

If You Need Someone to Talk To

Consider reaching out to someone you trust, such as a parent or guardian, family member, friend, teacher, school counselor, doctor, therapist, or another trusted adult.

You don't need to wait until a situation becomes a crisis before asking for help.

If something is affecting your everyday life, relationships, school, work, sleep, or ability to cope, consider talking with a qualified professional.

If Someone in AZSW Is Struggling

If another community member tells you they are struggling, you can listen and treat them with kindness and respect.

You don't have to solve the problem yourself.

Encourage the person to speak with someone they trust or a qualified professional. If you believe there may be an immediate danger to someone's safety, contact an appropriate emergency service rather than attempting to manage the situation entirely through Discord or AZSW.

Mental Health and Community Safety

Harassment, bullying, encouraging self-harm, deliberately targeting vulnerable members, or using someone's personal struggles against them is not acceptable in AZSW.

Members should never encourage another person to hurt themselves or someone else.

Serious safety concerns should be reported to AZSW administration or moderation so appropriate action can be considered under the AZSW community rules and Terms of Service.

Privacy

Please be careful when discussing personal matters online.

Avoid publicly posting private information such as your home address, passwords, financial information, medical records, or other information you would not want shared with others.

AZSW cannot guarantee that another community member will keep information shared in a public or private conversation confidential.

For sensitive mental health matters, a private conversation with a trusted adult or qualified professional may be more appropriate than a community channel.

In an Emergency

AZSW and the Arizona Southwest PBX are not emergency services.

If you or another person is in immediate danger, has a medical emergency, or needs urgent assistance, use an appropriate emergency service in your area.

Do not rely on an AZSW Discord message, support case, voicemail, moderator, administrator, or PBX extension to obtain emergency assistance.

Our Commitment

AZSW takes mental health, safety, and well-being seriously.

Our community cannot replace professional care, but we can work toward an environment where people are treated with dignity, where asking for help is respected, and where serious safety concerns are not ignored.

You do not have to handle a difficult situation alone. Reaching out to someone you trust can be an important first step.

And also, please know that you are not alone. We care about you, and we want to support all of y'all. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
